bags of white or brown rice, canned beef stew, jelly, ketchup, kids snacks, laundry detergent, pancake syrup, salad dressing (italian and ranch), sugar, toilet paper, vegetable oil and vienna sausages.


 

Signs of Praise:

60 +: 

Come enjoy the 60’s plus lunch on Wednesday, July 31.  Meet in the church parking lot at 11:00 a.m. and we will travel together to the Santa Fe Café’.  Bring a friend or two.  All are welcome!


 

3rd Grade Bibles: 

We will be presenting our 3rd graders with Bibles on August 4 and want to make sure we don’t miss anyone.  If you have a 3rd grader and have NOT received an email from the church office,please contact us at 913-724-2077 or basehorumc@sunflower.com. Also, if we missed giving your student a 3rd grade Bible, please let us know and we will include them this year.

Basehor UMW to attend Incarcerated Women’s UMW meeting

Basehor UMW will attend an Incarcerated Women’s UMW meeting in Topeka on September 3, 2019.  We will carpool from the


church parking lot, leaving no later than 4:15 p.m.  The meeting is from 6-7 p.m. and we typically eat at a local restaurant afterwards.  Since the meeting is held inside the facility, those wanting to attend must have clearance.  Forms are available in the narthex or church office.  Return the completed form to Cindy Wallis or the church office by July 31.


 

Looking for children’s playpen: 

I am looking for a children’s playpen (Grace play yard) to use for nap time with a 2 year old child I will be watching.  If you have one for sale, loan, or just want to get rid of, please contact Pam Maughmer at 913-724-2507.

 

Blessing of Backpacks and Promotion Sunday: 

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 4th! We will have the Blessing of the Backpacks for all who are going back to school soon and Sunday School Promotion Sunday at both services. 

 

Member Information Updated: 

Do we recognize you? Who are you? How do we contact you? It’s time to update your information with the church! Blank information sheets are located in the narthex. Please fill out a sheet with any changes over the past year—home and cell numbers; address; email; new family members; etc. – and place in the basket.  If you are new to the church (member or regular attendee) it  is important to have your information so we can keep you informed about events.  We are also missing pictures of folks for the directory.  Doris, Cindy or Pastor Kyle are available on Sunday’s to take individual pics.  Thanks for your cooperation!

 

Operation Back – to – school: 

Our Missions Committee will be taking up a collection for Della Lamb Community Services to help students get ready for going back to school.  They will collect the following items during the month of July: Backpacks, 3-ring notebooks and notebook paper Combination locks, Geometric compasses and protractors, crayons (24 pack), zipper pencil bags, #2 pencils, rulers, scissors, blue ink pens, big chief tablets, dictionaries.  Della Lamb will take the donations and get them to the children in time for school to start in August.  Please bring your items and leave them in the clear tubs in the Narthex by July 28.

 

Basehor United Methodist Men (BUMM’s): 

BUMMs ministry is to help men grow to a mature faith in God and move them to action on behalf of others, especially “the least”.  Meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m.
