Vacation Bible School 2023:

Be sure to save the date for our Vacation Bible School!  VBS “Hero Hotline” will

be June 19-22, 2023.  VBS is open for children ages 3 to 5th grade.


Lenten Bible Study:

Join us for our Lenten Bible Study Wednesday Mornings at 10 in the downstairs classroom of the Education Building.  The study will be led by Pastor Kyle.  The Lenten Study on the book, "The Difficult Words of Jesus" by Amy-Jill Levine shows how these difficult teachings would have sounded to the people who first heard them, how they have been understood over time, and how we might interpret them in the context of the Gospel of love and reconciliation. Sunday School Teaching Assistant(s) Needed:

We are looking for a volunteer to assist a few Sundays in Ms. Kathleen’s (PreK

& K) and Ms. Melony’s (1st & 2nd grade) Sunday School classrooms.  We have

6 slots open between Feb. 1 and the end of May.  No preparation necessary,

Coffee Connection: 

Parents! Join us in the Youth Room Sunday Mornings at 9:15 for Coffee Connection! A casual fellowship with other parents as a grab bag of topics around parenting will be discussed.  Coffee Connections begins on Sunday, February 19.  For more information, contact Pam BeMent at

Easter Egg Hunt Candy Needed: 

Our Easter Egg Hunt is fast approaching and we need lots of individually wrapped candy to fill our eggs!  Drop off your Easter Egg Candy donations in the marked bin in the narthex.  Our Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 1 at 10 am. 

Rise Against Hunger:

Mark your calendar for Sunday, March 19, 12 – 3 pm for our Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing Event.  Our goal is to pack 10,000 meals which cost an estimate of $6,400.  The $6,400 helps offset the expense of food, packaging and shipping.  To donate go to RISE or mark your check for Rise Against Hunger.

After School Program Dinners Needed:

Kid Volunteer Opportunity:

Do you have a child that would like to be part of our worship service by serving as an Acolyte?

Basehor UMC Choir Rehearsal:

Sunday School:

Our Sunday School classes meet Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. We have classes for children ages 3 and up, plus we have Couches and Conversation with Pastor Kyle for our Middle & High School Youth.  We also have our GAP (God’s Action People) Adult Sunday School Class that is currently studying 1 Corinthians.

Youth Group News:

Our Youth Group for grades 6 – 12 meet on Sunday evenings,  6 – 8 pm.  


Signs of Praise (sign language group):

Signs of Praise will be taking a break during the month of February.  Pam Maughmer will take that time to answer questions from anyone interested in joining, and preparing the song for our  next performance in May. We will resume practicing on Tuesday, March 1 at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary.  If you are interested in joining our group, please call Pat at 913-449-8489. 

Bible Study on ZOOM:

We host two Bible Studies on ZOOM each week, Monday evenings at 6:30 pm and Thursday mornings at 10 am. ZOOM link and information about the studies will be sent out on Mondays through email or contact the church office and we will get you the information.  

Prayer Shawls available:

Do you have a friend or family member going through a tough time? Is someone celebrating a milestone? We have prayer shawls available for you.  They are free to be picked up at our church office, we can mail you one or we can drop one off to you.  Just give Doris Ruffcorn a call at the church office at 913-724-2077 during office hours to set up a time to pick one up.  

Communion Cups “to go”:

We have pre-packaged communion “to go” cups available for you to pick up.  Call or

email the church office and let Doris know how many you would like and she will meet

you outside to pick them up.
