BLAS Food Pantry items needed:

Our BLAS Food Pantry is now accepting new and gently used clothing - kids and adults.  Items can be dropped off during office hours M -Th, 8 - 1, Sunday mornings, Thursday evenings at 5 pm.

Men’s Bible Study:

A NEW Men’s Bible study will meet on  Wednesday mornings at 6:00 am.  This Bible

Study will be both in-person and ZOOM and will be led by Rich Ruffcorn. The in-person study will meet in the downstairs classroom of the Education Building. Coffee, juice and snacks will be provided.  The group will focus on a 7-week study created by former NFL coach and player, Tony Dungy, "Dare to be UnCommon."  If you would like more information about the Bible study contact Rich at or 315-921-2706.

February Missions Project:

The Missions Committee is gathering signed Valentine’s Day cards, whether store

bought or handmade by adults/kiddos, to include in food boxes for seniors through

Harvester’s.  See this link for more details, but drop off our cards at church by

Wednesday, February 9 and Missions will deliver to Harvester’s.

After School Meal Program:

the Afternoon School Program (ASP) is a program for students in the Bashor-Linwood school district looking for kids looking for an alternative path to earn their high school diploma.  The students attend the ASP two days a week.  During the afternoon sessions, social and academic support to meet the needs of each individual student is provided.  As part of the program, a meal is served to help support their nutritional needs as well.  BUMC had agreed to provide meals for this program.  You will feed 15 - 18 students and food can be anything you choose.  It needs to be delivered between 2:45 and 3:00 to BLHS or the CTE door.  To sign up to provide a meal, click on ASP


Volunteers Needed:

We are looking for volunteers to help us out on Sunday mornings by being an usher,

greeter, worship leader, or with our Children’s Church.  Please contact the church

VBS 2022 Save the Date:

Parents!  Mark your calendar for June 20-23, 2022 for our Vacation Bible School 2022!  Your kids will not want to miss what we are “cooking” up!

Adult Choir:

Signs of Praise (sign language group):

Signs of Praise has changed their practice night.  We are now meeting on Thursday nights, in the sanctuary, at 6:30 to practice.  Pam is also available most Sunday mornings in the church house to practice.  If you have been thinking about joining, now is the time to join us.  We are open to everyone of all ages and abilities. 

Volunteers NEEDED:

With church activities opening back up, we are looking for some volunteers to help us out on Sunday mornings in our Nursery and Children's Church.  Children's Church will be during worship.  If you are interested in helping out or would like more information, please contact Pam BeMent at or 913-724-2077.

Bible Study on ZOOM:

We host two Bible Studies on ZOOM each week, Monday evenings at 6:30 pm and Thursday mornings at 10 am. ZOOM link and information about the studies will be sent out on Mondays through email or contact the church office and we will get you the information.  

Prayer Shawls available:

Do you have a friend or family member going through a tough time? Is someone celebrating a milestone? We have prayer shawls available for you.  They are free to be picked up at our church office, we can mail you one or we can drop one off to you.  Just give Doris Ruffcorn a call at the church office at 913-724-2077 during office hours to set up a time to pick one up.  

Communion Cups “to go”:

We have pre-packaged communion “to go” cups available for you to pick up.  Call or

email the church office and let Doris know how many you would like and she will meet

you outside to pick them up.
