Rev. Kyle Nelson is the Pastor of Basehor UMC, he was appointed as pastor in July 2019. He was not born in Kansas City, Kansas but considers it his home. 

While attending Central Baptist Theological Seminary, he was encouraged to find a new church home. He and his wife Emily, began attending Living Water United Methodist Church, a new church start in KCK. It was the catalyst for a new adventure in becoming United Methodists and pursuing ordination in a new denomination. 

Rev. Nelson holds a BA degree in Theology and Religious Studies from Rockhurst University, and a Masters of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology. He is married to Emily Nelson, a native of Kansas City, Kansas and they have five children together, Jacob (11), Josephina (10), Emma (8), Alexander (3), and Nora (3).
