At Basehor UMC, we believe faith comes alive when we serve others. Our mission—to grow in God’s love and share it with others—guides everything we do. Through hands-on ministries, community partnerships, and global outreach, we strive to make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. Whether you serve once, occasionally, or regularly, there’s a place for you to share God’s love in practical and meaningful ways.

    Bless Basehor Day

    Serving our neighbors through practical acts of kindness.

    Every other year, our church gathers in place of our regular worship service for Bless Basehor Day—an all-hands effort to serve our city. Projects include yard work, minor repairs, cleaning, organizing, helping local residents, and blessing community organizations. It’s a joyful, energetic day of being the hands and feet of Christ in Basehor.

    Bridges of Hope

    Providing a hot meal every Sunday morning.

    Bridges of Hope is one of our longest-standing outreach ministries. Each Sunday, volunteers prepare and serve a warm, nutritious meal for anyone in need—no questions asked. It’s a simple act of hospitality that brings comfort, dignity, and kindness to our community.

    Ways to help: meal prep, serving, clean-up, food donations, prayer support.

    Rise Against Hunger

    Global hunger relief through meal-packing events.

    Every other year, we partner with Rise Against Hunger to pack thousands of shelf-stable meals that are shipped around the world to communities experiencing food insecurity. It’s a fast-paced, family-friendly event where everyone—from young children to older adults—can participate in making a global impact.

    BLAS (Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services)

    Feeding our community through partnership and support.

    BLAS is a local food pantry located right here on our property and operated by Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services. We support BLAS through food drives, seasonal collections, financial giving, and volunteer help. Together, we serve families throughout the Basehor-Linwood area who need a little extra support.

    Ways to help: Our monthly “Purple Bag Sunday”, pantry donations, holiday collections, volunteer shifts.
