Christian Nationalism:
Seeking a Faithful Response

What to Expect

Why this series?

This four-part series will combine teaching and discussion to help participants explore and better understand Christian Nationalism. Each session will include time to reflect on scripture, engage with a variety of books and resources, and discuss questions and ideas with the group. You will be encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and share your own experiences and perspectives in a respectful and open setting. Please bring anything that will help you learn, such as notebooks, pens, tablets, or computers. The goal is for everyone to leave with a deeper understanding, practical insights, and guidance for living out their primary allegiance to Christ in daily life.

Christian Nationalism is a growing cultural and religious conversation that touches both faith and public life. It can be confusing, challenging, and sometimes divisive. This series exists to help participants understand what Christian Nationalism is, how it relates to scripture and our United Methodist heritage, and how we can respond thoughtfully and faithfully. The goal is not to condemn or shame, but to equip you to reflect, discern, and live out your primary allegiance to Christ with wisdom, grace, and integrity.
